Iran Sumo Association (ISA) as the sole national governing body of Sumo in the Islamic republic of Iran organized its first national competitions on June 11, 2015 to national team dispatching to the 20th World Sumo Championships which will be held on Aug 27-30, 2015 in Osaka, Japan. During this national event, a technical course on Sumo was instructed by Dr. Jasem Manouchehri, founder president of the ISA for all participants. Tehran, North Khorasan, and West Azerbaijan provinces teams won 1st to 3rd in total points achieved in the medal table among 12 participating provinces teams.
